State Arboretum of Virginia: A Perfect Sunday Afternoon

The grounds of the State Arboretum of Virginia are open from dawn until dusk, and the entire 172 acres is FREE to visit, walk the grounds and photograph, or sit along the miles of trails that meander throughout the arboretum.  I've visited in the winter, and took my kids here to appreciate the birds and selection of native plants and trees.  This is a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon in any season.

  1. All great pics, but the first one is outstanding.

  2. It was my favorite, too, which is why it is first on the blog. It is how I saw it...exactly. Imagine a warm breeze blowing and about 72 degrees, the only sound is the wind and birds chirping and you get the feel.
